Production Foreman

Job Description

OVERALL POSITION FUNCTION: Hands on Production management including scheduling, purchasing and shipping/receiving in a dynamic manufacturing environment

PREREQUISITES: Production Control qualification or similar and/or relative level of demonstrated experience in production management.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Plant Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Production assistant, shipping and receiving function

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all production management tasks for a multi-product line manufacturing company.
  • Monitoring production lines to ensure schedule obtainment.
  • Determine and communicate lead times for product lines.
  • Liaise between customer service and production to ensure that all orders are handled as required.
  • Liaise between engineering and production to ensure correct drawings and programs available.
  • Oversee the shipment of all product on a daily basis including 3rd party shipments
  • Alert Customer Service of any potential shipment delays.
  • Reconcile production log daily to ensure accurate up to date information.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of shop consumable materials and purchase on a scheduled basis.
  • Source consumables so that the best value is realized
  • Enter shop purchase orders into company ERP system and relay to vendors
  • Oversee the receiving of purchase orders into company ERP system.
  • Compile data and report to management upon request.
