Maintenance/Safety Supervisor

Job Description

OVERALL POSITION FUNCTION: Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and Safety
of all facility equipment and structures. Involves performing individual maintenance
tasks and coordinating the work of other maintenance staff, as appropriate. Ensuring all
OSHA safety regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.

PREREQUISITES: Experience performing and coordinating maintenance work in a
manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of:

Plasmas, Press Brakes, CNC & Manual Equipment
Facilities Maintenance, including heating, plumbing, and electrical systems
Basic electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, etc…
OSHA regulations & standards

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Director of Manufacturing

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate repair of machines in a timely fashion, using personal, staff, and
    external resources as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all equipment as required.
  • Maintain, support and enhance plant wide preventative maintenance, machine
    wellness, and 5S programs as appropriate
  • Order & maintain proper inventory levels of all necessary maintenance supplies &
    parts.
  • Maintain all plant electric, plumbing, air and facilities as needed.
  • Perform routine inspection of fire extinguishers, hoists, safety interlocks, etc…
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with all production associates
  • Work with plant and production management to ensure all processes and
    procedures are being conducted in a safe manner
  • Contribute to quarterly safety meetings with Safety Team, which includes company
    ownership
  • Perform other tasks as required.

  • Ability to multi-task in a busy team environment.

  • Timely performance of required maintenance.
  • Timely scheduling of safety related meetings & inspections.
  • Safety record including # days without lost time due to accident
  • Performance to established budgetary goals

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Basic electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, etc…
  • OSHA regulations & standards
  • Willingness to work required overtime when schedule demands it.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Professional communication skills, verbal and oral, with internal and external resources.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE THAT ARE A PLUS (But not required):

  • Operating a fork truck.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Maintenance/Company ERP software experience

  • Physical job requiring standing and steady lifting of product weighing 30 to 60 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Mix of Shop Floor and office environment.
